Porter Square Affordable Development Brings 40 Housing Units
Frost Terrace, a 100% affordable community in Cambridge’s Porter Square, celebrated its opening. Developed by Capstone Communities and Hope Real Estate, the transit-oriented project provides 40 affordable housing units.
With a range of unit sizes, including family-oriented options, 65% of Frost Terrace’s units are two- and three-bedroom apartments. The building also features electric heat-pump systems, energy recovery ventilation, and upcoming solar panels. The project earned multiple awards, including LEED Multifamily Midrise Gold.
Financing for the project came from various sources, including Rockland Trust, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust, and the Massachusetts Housing Partnership.
