Weir Minerals announces additions to Lewis range

Weir Minerals has launched three new Lewis pumps, the LewisVL axial pump, the Lewishorizontal process pump and the Lewis vertical high pressure molten salt pump, to its pumps and valves series for the sulphur, sulphuric and phosphoric acid industries.

The three pumps have been designed to maximise wear life in the most corrosive industrial applications while simplifying maintenance through their streamlined designs, which significantly reduces the number of parts compared to previous pumps.

The new Lewishorizontal process pump is a single stage, end suction pump designed for a wide variety of chemical processing applications. The LewisVL axial flow pump is for heavy duty construction use in corrosive, high temperature chemical processing applications, such as evaporator and crystalliser circulation.

The Lewis vertical high pressure molten salt pump has been designed to meet the needs of the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) industry. This multi-stage vertical turbine pump has been specifically designed for extremely high pressures and temperatures and supports heads of up to 701 m, temperatures of 593°C and up to 10.3Mpa pressure.
